There are over 400 vacancies in New Zealand for Registered Pharmacists – the bulk of these are Retail based and approximately 50 roles are hospital based.  

We are seeking NZ Registered Pharmacists and Pharmacists who are registered and educated in the UK and Ireland.  The NZ cross registration pathway for UK and Irish educated pharmacists is the easiest to achieve of all overseas Pharmacists as the NZ system is closely aligned to the UK. 

Private and Public Hospital roles are quite varied, usually working in Dispensary and Supply and requiring clinical pharmacy experience.  Positions offering training from retail pharmacy into hospital clinical pharmacy are available. 

Work includes inpatient dispensary, community pharmacy and working with supply chain, covid, and procurement.  You would be working and consulting with a wide range of medical professionals and be part of a team of pharmacists, technicians and assistants.


Pharmacists in Retail settings usually work in an environment offering an extensive range of natural health and beauty products and can have a wide range of dispensary services that include Methadone, Sildenafil, Trimethoprim pharmacist-prescribing, ECP, Maviret and Vaccinations, including Oral contraceptive with Pharmacist consultation.  Roles can be part of a team or move to sole charge practice.
